This October, Free Fire is giving squads new ways to play, explore, and get spooked together with The Unseen, a horror-themed event. From Oct 16 to Nov 1, players can venture into The Hidden Side, stay involved with their squad even after elimination, and experience random scares in a strange manor. Free rewards and a new collection of themed outfits will also be available throughout the event.
Something is hiding in plain sight
In Battle Royale, players can pick up a Reveal Mask to enter The Hidden Side, an alternate version of the map where the sky darkens and mysterious creatures appear in the distance. There, players can move faster, jump higher, and interact with objects hidden from regular view to obtain useful gear. Selected weapons will also reveal new mechanics for players to discover.
Attacking or taking damage will pull players back to the regular map, adding another consideration to when and how they explore The Hidden Side.
Elimination does not have to mean sitting out the rest of the action either. As long as at least one teammate remains in the match, eliminated players can transform into spooky Dolls and continue interacting with their squad. They can enter The Hidden Side, buff surviving teammates, and use special emotes — creating plenty of opportunities to help or mess with friends even after elimination.
Reveal Masks also appear in Clash Squad, giving players access to The Hidden Side. Across both modes, selected weapons will gain new mechanics for players to discover.
See what unfolds in the strange manor
Outside of matches, the scares continue through a scrollable manor tied to players’ progress. Completing daily missions earns tokens that can be used to raise their in-game panic level and unlock new nodes, where interacting with objects can trigger different horror animations and surprises.
The scares come with rewards
Players can earn themed rewards for free by completing event missions throughout The Unseen event, led by the Cloaked Terror Bundle as the event's free grand prize. The unisex outfit pairs a shadowy hood and masked face with striking red accents for an ominous look in matches. Other free rewards include the Axed Escape Jeep skin and Spinning Machete Parang skin.
Bring the horror into every match
A new collection inspired by familiar horror archetypes will also arrive, each featuring distinctive visual effects and animations:
- The male Hollow Man Bundle cuts a menacing figure in a weathered coat and hat, with a skeletal frame and striking hollow opening through its chest.
- The female Crimson Glitches Bundle channels a haunting silhouette, with long black hair and shifting visual effects that distort her appearance as she moves.
- The male Red Slicker Bundle wraps its wearer in deep crimson, with a deep hood and dark tendrils extending from behind.
Beyond outfits, players can find a horror-inspired elimination collectible featuring a pair of hand-holding twins, as well as themed Skydive and Arrival Animations, and more.
Free Fire continues to explore different themes throughout the year, giving players fresh ways to enjoy the game with friends. Following the upbeat and celebratory themes of recent months, The Unseen takes a playful turn into horror, mixing an unsettling atmosphere and startling encounters with plenty of lighthearted squad interactions.
